The Health Center is very excited about the growth of its Development Department.

Its focus for the past five years has been on its capital campaign to raise $12.2 million to build a new family medical and training facility.  In addition to raising capital funds through grants from government and private foundations, the Health Center also puts on an annual signature event, “A Tribute to the Spirit of Community,” which recognizes extraordinary individuals for furthering the Health Center's mission.

Here's an update on our very successful capital campaign:

Purpose of the new Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Family Medical Building

Since its establishment in 1972, the Health Center’s patient growth more than tripled.  The original facility was designed to serve a smaller Waianae population, as was the case 35 years ago.  The Health Center has a critical need to expand its facilities.  Family medicine, and women and children’s health care are now being provided in crowded and scattered clinical spaces.  The Health Center is approximately 22,000 feet short of space needed to perform its basic family medicine functions for patients.

The new family medical building will significantly enhance the Health Center’s capacity to meet the health care needs of the growing Leeward coast population and to accommodate the growing demand for community-based training programs from universities and colleges in Hawaii, the U.S. Continent and throughout the Pacific region.

Services and Activities in the New Building

The ground floor will house training rooms.  The 2nd floor will house the pediatric clinic.  The 3rd floor will house women’s health.
